Emperor Be Qi inherited the throne at the age of 13 and ruled the country from 1925 until his abdication in 1945. He was the last of the Nguyen kings who united the country and built a feudal capital along the river.

Khta Tomb, Hue
Bae Qi was the only son of Emperor Khon Yin . Khoni Inem briefly ruled the country from 1916 to 1925. In 1920, Khi nh ordered the construction of a palace tomb in Hue, a practice followed by the emperors of the Nguyen dynasty before him. Construction continued for another five years after his death and finally ended in 1931. This magnificent and extraordinary monument of excessive pride stands on a hill not far from the city, it offers a view of the merging worlds of feudalism and colonialism, in which Be Qi was born.

Dinh Palace, Hue
This ornate fusion of Eastern and Western design is a unique commemorative sign of French influence on the Vietnamese royal family. The construction of this majestic house was commissioned by Bho Qi's father, Khoni Yin in 1917. All the halls, walls, furniture and decor speak of the deep closeness of French and European culture. The style of the palace combines French and Vietnamese motifs. Be Qi spent several years of his coronation here and returned to visit throughout his reign. This well-maintained building is a must-visit for architecture lovers and history lovers. Upstairs is an exhibit of old photographs depicting the life of the last Vietnamese emperor, his elegant wife Nam Phuong and their children.

Dalat Palace Hotel

Imperial Citadel, Hue

The citadel was built under the leadership of the kings of the Nguyen dynasty, who ruled Vietnam from Hue City from 1802 to 1945. The royal wedding of Be Qi took place here for four days in March 1934. The ceremony captured the imagination and attention of the international press and the world. The Emperor and Empress will have five children. Although much of Hue Citadel and its Forbidden Purple City were destroyed during the Vietnam Wars, some parts have been painstakingly restored, including the impressive Noon Gate and Hoa Thai Palace.

Summer Palace (Palace III), Dalat
Located in a pine forest, this Art Deco palace was commissioned by Be Qi in 1933 and completed in 1938. It was the last palace that the emperor would build in Vietnam. Bae Qi spent most of his time here, including some of his last days in Vietnam. A large portrait of the former emperor hangs above the fireplace, the walls are decorated with trophies from his hunting trips. Be Qi built a palace and surrounding areas with a terrace for stargazing. Today you can take a trip through the grounds and villas, which are created as museums full of family souvenirs.
TIP: Be Qi and his royal entourage spent whole weeks in the highlands of Dalat to hunt big game. One of his favorite stops was a breathtaking waterfall.
